Any answer in a red box means the bird must be seen by a rehabilitation expert.

 

 
Yes No Did you see or hear it hit a window?
Yes No Can you catch the bird? Any juvenile or adult bird that can be easily caught has a problem. Birds that stand around looking fluffy and fat are often very thin and trying to keep warm.
Yes No Has the bird been, or is suspected of having been, in a dog's or cat's mouth? If yes, it needs to be taken to a rehabilitator without delay. Cats, especially, have bacteria in their mouths that can cause deadly infection if not treated.
